The experience is everything. Still, hopefully being well read will make the experience a better one - even if most of the books did happen to give bad advice.

Thanks for stopping by.Benhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02818393648276891657noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30400181.post-3676093743494976322008-05-07T12:04:00.000-05:002008-05-07T12:04:00.000-05:002008-05-07T12:04:00.000-05:00(came over from your comment on Troy's blog)...Dep...(came over from your comment on Troy's blog)...

Depends on the book for me. We used to read "What to Expect" until the milestones weren't coordinating with our son's speech. Then we tossed it over our shoulder and went solo. That was five years ago or so. Along came our second child who is her brother's opposite. We've been getting the full education on parenting, most of it personal experience. There's never been anything more important to me, having this privilege and making the commitment towards getting this right.

There is nothing more important than being an excellent parent.
Those who would disagree do not look towards the future.
And they certainly haven't been humbled through the experience, as we have. It strips away all the rest of the bs, when your kid really needs you and you didn't let him down.

Anyway.
Glad I came over!Ange (formerly Writer Mom)http://www.blogger.com/profile/18058615711696995128noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30400181.post-23006831555647146992008-05-05T16:27:00.000-05:002008-05-05T16:27:00.000-05:002008-05-05T16:27:00.000-05:00you should buy some more of those for baby shower ...you should buy some more of those for baby shower gifts!Kellyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06186111232787804343noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30400181.post-89057108269354969382008-05-05T09:18:00.000-05:002008-05-05T09:18:00.000-05:002008-05-05T09:18:00.000-05:00It's encouraging to know that there are other pare...It's encouraging to know that there are other parents that care enough to turn off "Reality Show 22: Reality in Guam" and take time to learn how to be a good parent.
