Feeling Violated

So this post is for me more than anything else, but I am feeling a little violated and a little angry at myself. Sometime between Sunday night and this morning, someone helped themselves to our son's DVD player in the minivan. We don't usually lock our doors so we had it coming I guess. It's just that it makes things a little uneasy - oh and angry.

We live in a great neighborhood with many fine upstanding people, but there are a few bad apples. For example, a few weeks back we cracked our windows one morning when the weather was nice outside. Then we heard a girl screaming "He said I was no longer a part of the family!" as she walked away from what must have been her mother. She stomped off dressed in some kind of strange outfit. On Sunday night, we noticed that girl hanging out in the street with several other friends on skateboards not caring at all about traffic. It makes me wonder if it was them.

Anyway, now we have to start locking our doors and my son's favorite DVD will need to be replaced - well maybe not since Baby Einstein was starting to drive me crazy. If it was some punk kid that took the DVD player, then I hope he/she loves it and finds a little happiness using it because I imagine their life has very little happiness anyways. Besides it's not like it was that expensive.

I suspect it was a kid, because they didn't pilfer. They just took the DVD player. They could have grabbed the other DVD player that came with the set that was in the back seat and the cash tucked away in the console. Geez, if you are going to steal stuff, at least do a good job doing it.

Yeah, our neighborhood is basically the same as yours. My purse got stolen last summer. Our car got egged once, a lady down the street was arrested for selling dope out of her...get this..her *home daycare*! But largely, it is a nice enough place and we have some other neighbors who are great.

Sorry about the dvd player and dvd. But yeah, don't replace Baby Einstein. hahahha.
